Why should you never trust atoms? Because…they make up everything!
Welcome to my teacher bio! I am Jenifer Calvert, and I love chemistry! This is my first year at Woodland High School, but my 12th year teaching for Bartow County Schools.
I began my teaching career at Adairsville High School in 2006. While there, I was the 2010 AHS Teacher of the Year and the Star Teacher for the School and System in 2014. Because I believe a person should never stop learning, I completed my gifted certification with Bartow County and attended AP Chemistry Summer Institute at Kennesaw State University. In 2017, I decided to trade in my gradebook for a lab notebook and began my coursework to complete a Master of Science in Chemical Science at Kennesaw State University. While at KSU, I conducted research exploring how physical modeling in organic chemistry affects a student’s cognitive load. Upon completion of my masters, I joined the staff at Woodland High School, and I am super excited to be apart of this amazing Wildcat family!
In my spare time, I enjoy the great outdoors, reading my favorite authors and staying active with my three genetics. As an Illinois native, I also keep up with my favorite sports teams: “Fly the W” and “Bear Down”!!
